PROPOSAL TO RAISE A SPECIAL LOAN UNDER THE LOCAL BODIES LOANS ACT. 1926. -PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY A GIVEN that the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board proposes to raise a special loan of £150,009 for the purpose of distributing electrical energy in the flutt Valley Electric Power District. The sum proposed to be borrowed to bo applied in the following manner:— Reticulation of the District, Street Lighting, Plant and Equipment, Land and Buildings, General Expenses. Future extensions of Reticulation, Financial Assistance to Consumers, Provision for Purchases and Installations under Sections 120 and 118 of The Electric Power Boards Act, 1925. As security for the loan it is proposed to make and levy a special late of Seventeen twentv-fiftns of a penny (17-25 d. in the pound on the rateable value (on tho basis of the unimproved vallue) of all rateable property in the Hutt Valley Electric Power District to provide for interest on the said loan at the tate not exceeding Five and a half (s}) per centum per annum and a sinking fund of One (1) per centum per annum. The loan to be repayable within a period of not more than 46 years from the date of raising thereof. November 18, 1926, the following resolution was passed: The Wellington City Council pursuant to the provision of the .Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and its Amendments, and the Local Authorities Empowering (Relief of Unemployment) Act, 1926, and in pursuance of all other Acts and powers (if any), it enabling, doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order: (1) That a Special Loan of Twelve thousand pounils >£12,000) to be known as “The Wellington City Unemployment Loan, 1926," be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of carrying out public works for the relief of unemployment, namely, street construction on Alexandra Road, Hornsey Road, and other streets, the object of the Local Authority in undertaking such street, works being primarily to provide employment for men who would otherwise bo without employment or without sufficient employment to enable them to maintain themselves and their families in a reasonable condition of comfort. (2) That the interest on the said Loan be at a rate not exceeding Five pounds ten shillings (£5 10s.) per centum per annum, payable half-yearly, during the currency of the said loan, being a period not exceeding ten (10) years from the 31st day of March, 1927. (3) That a sinking fund of One pound (£1) per centum per annum be established in connection with the said loan. (1) That the security for the interest, sinking fund and other charges and repayment of the said loan be a special rate on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Wellington, so calculated’ as to yield interest and sinking fund and other charges on the said loan and 10 per cent, additional on these amounts. (5) That One hundred and twenty (PO) debentures each for One hundred pounds (£100) and relative coupons in a form in conformity with the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, be executed, sealed and issued.
