ILL-TREATING A HORSE

WITHOUT FOOD OR WATER FOR SEVEN HOURS. Dominion Special. Christchurch, November 22. Deeply engrossed in some interesting business, David Clark, a dairyman, forgot all about his horse and cart and left the outfit standing for nearly seven hours. Tho neglect resulted in the appearance of Clarke before Mr. H. F [.awry. S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, on a charge of wilfully and unreasonably ill-treating a horse bv leaving it standing in harness without food or water. Clark failed to attend the Court last Wednesday and was arrested this morning. He pleaded guilty, and was convicted and fined £i and ' costs.
