The death has occurred of M. Constantinesco, the Rumanian Liberal Leader. A fire at Cloncurry, Queensland, destroyed five shops and a hotel, also two shops used as dwellings. Ihe damage amounts to many thousands of pounds The cruiset Marseillaise was firing at a target ofl Toulon when two shells hit a hospital in Giens. The mishap is attributed to the cruiser tossing in the storm. A fire at Coburg (Victoria) timber mills caused damage estimated at foUUU. The Fiji Government has given Burns, Philp, and Co.’s inter-insular steam ser•icc a subsidy of £7500 per annum.
