DRIVER WHO READS “BAXTER’S” ADVERTISEMENTS. AMUSING INCIDENT ON SUBURBAN BUS. The writer of “Baxter’s” advertisements had occasion to ride in a suburban bus the other day. On being questioned bv the driver after a desultory sort of conversation he modestly admitted that he was an advertise-ment-writer. “Well” said the driver, “I don’t go much on ads. myself, but I reckon there’s a bloke that’s got the wood on von absolutely.” On putting the question that seemed to be necessary, the driver replied, “Oh, he’s the fellow who writes ads. for Baxter’s Lung Preserver.” Baxter’s man held his peace, and settled down to listen to a most interesting talk on the merits of Baxter’s Lung Preserver.
