The effect on fish . in the Wanganui River of pollution from industrial plants was discussed at the Wanganui Harbour Board's meeting (says an exchange), when the Marine Department, in a letter, stated that filtration ot out falls from the gas and restar works would not entirely relieve the danger to neb. as tne most dangerous chemicals discharged into the river were in solution.
