WELLINGTON ROSE SHOW
The annual rose show of the Wellington Horticultural Society to-morrow promises to be the best, yet held. Every year sees the rose improved, aud the interest in the "queen of flowers increased. Keen competition m all classes among the local and Hutt growers is assured. The Hutt growers are keen to show that the best roses m New Zealand can be grown in their district. The winning of the vicepresident’s trophy tor most points id the rose classes nt the Hu.lt bhow last week by a AA'ellington. grower has put Valley growers on their metal. fables of carnations have been promised by Napier and Manakau growers, and these alone should be worth going to see. This year the society has been extremely fortunate in the number of tropines donated, both in the rose and pansy classes. An orchestra has been engaged. and afternoon tea is to be provided bv the ladies of the society. Ihe show will be opened by the Mayor (Mr. C. J- B. Norwood) at 3 o clock to-morrow afternoon.
