During the last few months many of the dances organised on the Hauraki Plains have riot been a success from a financial standpoint on account of the smallness of the attendances. Tht record, however, must surely go to Kaihcre (writes the Thames correspondent of the "New Zealand Herald”). A dance was to have been held one evening recently, and the custodian of the hall lit the lamps and went home. A little while afterwards the two musicians arrived, but as no one else turned up they also went home.
