An Auckland Press Association message reports the death of Canon John Charles Keeles, aged 86. formerly Canon of Woodville. Hawkes Bay. The Hutt Valley Power Board advertises that meetings will be held throughout the district so that ratepayers may be made conversant with the loan proposal on which a poll is to be taken .on Friends and supporters of Miss Korwood and the Military Forces are invited to attend a meeting in the Mayoress’s room, Town Hall, oil Tuesday next, at 3 p.m., with the object of forming a ladies’ committee to assist her campaign as the Artillery Queen! The Caledonian Society Pipe Band will play at the Wellington Hospital to-morrow afternoon, and the Tramways Band will plav at Botanical Gardens. As a result of having his fingers caught in a circular saw while working for Scoullar’s, Ltd., furnishers, Lambton Quav, John Howell, a married man, agcd""33j living at 255 Taranaki Street, was admitted to the Hospital yesterday afternoon.
