The Union Company’s well-known steamers Navua and Atua, which were recently reported to have been sold, have been purchased by the Khcdival Line, of London. The latter company maintains a passenger and cargo service around the Levant, Red Sea, and Near East ports. The Navua and Atua will leave Dunedin for Europe within two or throe weeks. ARAWA REPORTED. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company received a wireless message yesterday from tile Arawa, stating that the vessel will arrive at Auckland next Thursday from London and Southampton, via Panama. The vessel is due at Wellington on December 2. Captain W. G. Summers, late of the Tairoa, is now master of the Arawa. SULPHUR FROM TEXAS. A charter has been arranged for the steamer Anglo Colombian to load sulphur at Galveston, Texas, for discharge at Auckland, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, bydney, and Geelong. OTAKI DUE TO-DAY. Due a.t Wellington this morning from Liverpool, via Auckland, the Otaki is to. berth at the King's Wharf to discharge part cargo. She is to leave Wellington next Wednesday afternoon for Lyttelton and Dunedin, to unload the remainder. VANCOUVER MAIL STEAMERS. The Aorangi left Sydney yesterday at 4 p.m.. and is due at Auckland on Tuesday. She will leave at 4 p.m. the same day for Vancouver, via ports..' The Niagara left Vancouver on Wednesdnyi and‘is due at Honolulu on November 24. at Suva on December 3, and at Auckland "oil December 6. She will leave for Sydney the same day.
SAN FRANCISCO MAIL STEAMERS. The Makura, from Wellington, via ports, is due at San Francisco on November 26. The Tahiti, from San Francisco, via ports, is due at Wellington on Monday at 7 a.m., and leaves at 3 p.m. on Tuesday for Sydney.
ISLANDS STEAMERS. The Waiotapu left Apia yesterday for Vancouver. The Tofua will leave Apia to-day for Fiji and Auckland.

MAHENO AT MELBOURNE. The Union Company advise that the Maheno arrived at Melbourne at 8 p.m. on Thursday from Wellington. She will leave there at 10 a.m. for Wellington direct, and is due here <n Monday, November 9. She will leave the following afternoon for Melbourne, 'ia south.
AORANGI TO BE OVERHAULED. The Union Company's Royal Mail motor-ship, Aorangi. is to be withdrawn from the Vancouver service on arrival at Sydney on January 8.- solely in order to have her engines overhauled. The vessel has been running continuously for two y'ears without an overhaul of her engines, and yet on her recent run from Auckland to Sydney she established a new record. The Aorangi’s engines have proved an unqualified success, and it speaks volumes for them that they have run for two years without being “taken down” for an overhaul. The vessel’s passenger accommodation has given the utmost satisfaction, and the many testimonies the Union Company have received provide grounds of proof of the complete success of the ship’s design throughout. MISCELLANEOUS. The City of Canton is to leave Dunedin on Tuesday lor Portland (Victoria), to complete discharge of her New York cargo. The liner Tainui will now sail front Dunedin on Tuesday for Lyttelton, to unload the remainder <f her London cargo. The liner Ruahine arrived at Port Chalmers at 7.30 a.m. yesterday from Bluff, for loading. She left the Otago port last evening for Timaru. The Progress is due nt Wellington on Wednesday, and will go on to Wanganui, Now Plymouth, and Port Waikato. The John will load at Bluff on Monday, via ports, for Wellington, Wanganui, and New Plymouth. She is due here on Thursday. The Breeze will load at Dunedin on Wednesday, via ports, for Wellington and Wanganui. The Kahika will load at Dunedin on Monday, via, ports, . for Wellington, Napier. and Gisborne. The Kamona, from Dunedin and Timaru, is due at Wellington to-day. She will sail later in the day for New Plymouth. thence to Westport, to load for Bluff and Dunedin.; . The Kaponga, due at W’ellington to-day from Adelaide, via Auckland and Napier, will go on to Westport, where she will load for this port. The Kurow will leave Dunedin to-day, via ports, for Wellington and Auckland. She is due here on Wednesday. The Opihi will clear Dunedin- on Tuesday. via ports, for Wellington. Nelson, and New Plymouth, thence Westport. The Poolta, with cement from Portland. will leave New Plymouth to-night for Wellington, She is due here tomorrow night, and will eave on Monday for Lyttelton.
The Waipahi was expected to clear Auckland last night for Wellington and southern ports Sho is due here on Sunday night." The Waipiata will leave Auckland next Thursday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin., and Timaru.
The Ngakuta, from Westport, will leave Greymouth to-day for Wellington. The Totara from Timaru and Lyttelton. is due at Wellington on Tuesday, and will go on to New Plymouth.
