SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

4, Mrs. E. Pollock’s concert to seamen on Thursday at the Sailors’ Friend Society gave much pleasure to an appreciative audience, which loudly demanded encores. The performers wore Mrs. R. Pollock. Misses Buckmaster, Bowler, Charles, and Messrs. ' Brusey, A. Edmunds, I*. IT. Bennett, East, Ewan, Clarke. Bosbcrry and James. Mrs. E. Pollock and Sirs. Brusey were nt the piano. During the evening competitions wore entered into. The prizes came from Misses Keep-Read and Hastings and went to the Port Hobart., Tamaroa and Dliinaroa. The missioner announced that the society would be grateful for discarded books for the voyages before the men.
