SCHOOLBOY’S LIFE LOST IN SEA

Pukekolie, November 19,

Robert Oswald Blake (aged 15), a son of Mr, J. A. Blake, of Waiuku, was drowned at Ocean Beach, near Waiuku, yesterday. Three secondary school boys, who were supposed to be at school, went to the beach instead, and while bathing, Blake, who was unable to swim, got into difficulties. The efforts of a companion to rescue him alive failed, but eventually the bodv was recovered.

SETTLER’S BODY FOUND. Tauranga. November 19. A settler named David Scott (aged 35 years) was drowned at Kaimai. It appears that he went down Io a creek to attend to a ram. As he did not return his brother went down and later found his body in the creek.
