“HIS MAJESTY’S"
TO BE RESEATED AND REDECORATED.
' Mr. John Fuller, formerly a resident and city councillor of. Wellington, is at present visiting the city ou one of his perennial visits ; Mr. Fuller had'to come to Wellington this time, as the firm was contemplating the expenditure of a good deal of money on His Majesty’s Theatre in Courtenay Place, which has not known Hands of the decorator since its erection. Plans of the proposed interior decorations have already been submitted to and approved by Air. Fuller, and the work will be put in hand‘almost immediately. It has also been decided to reseat the' whole of the circle and stalls with a very fine tiew model iron and leather chair such as has been supplied to the new St. James Theatre in Sydney—now the most modern and handsome theatre in Australasia. These seats are especially well sprung, have a high back that fits the person most comfortably, and are so constructed that immediately the occupant rises, the seat folds up and the back leans forward a little, making clear passages between the rows for a quicker exit than is possible when the seats do not tip np of their own volition.
The business of John Fuller and Sons is being compacted in the theatre. At the present time new offices 'ire being constructed high up on- the eastern side of the stage, where there is plenty of space to spare. Mr. Fuller will leave for Sydney cn Friday next.
