Eulogistic reference was made at the annual meeting of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects last night to the work done by Kfr. R. W. de Montalk, who had donated a trophy for competition amongst students of architecture. Mr. Stanley W. Ream, who presided, stated that Mr. de Montalk had not been in the best of health of late, and was going away for an extended holiday. He expressed the wish that he would return to them very much better in health than he had been in the past. • A Press Association cablegram received from London states that Mr. F. W. Furkert, Engineer-in-Cliief of the New Zealand Public Works Department, who has been touring the world on visits of inspection on behalf of the Government, was to leave London yesterday en route for New Zealand.
