PROSPECTS OF GOLD. Dominion Special. Auckland, November 18. Considerable excitement is tvineed at Thames in the latest development ot the Moanataiari mine. Large dabs t.nd colours of gold are seen in stone t.eing secured at each breaking (.own. rrom the point where the ' eef was struck is 180 ft. from the surface end about 100 ft. from the Moanataiari slide in ground that has not been worked before, while from tho Cambria shaft the line on the reef to the ilule is all through virgin ground. Moanataiari shares had a sharp advance Uns morning. Tho market closed < n 1 uesdny with sales up to 4s. Gd.. At the first call to-day shares sold at Cs., 6s. 6d., 6a. 4d.. Gs. 3d. At the icon call i-nles were made at Gs. and 6s. 2d., with buyers left at 6s. 2d. and sellers rskmg one penny more.
