The occurrence took place when the • train was passing Koputaroa, a few ' miles on the Palmerston North side of Levin.- The impression of the pas- ' sengers in the compartment is that 1 the damage was caused by a rifle bullet, although no trace of the missile can be found. It is evident that the damage was done from the outside of the carriage. The matter is being placed in the hands of the police. No one was injured.
