TASMANIAN BUDGET
SURPLUS FOR ' YEAR
Hobart, November 17. In the Tasmanian House of Assembly, the Premier and Treasurer (Air. Lyons), in his Budget speech, said the surplus on the year’s transactions was 128,221. The accumulated deficit at June 30 was £394,551. The revenue for the current year was estimated at £2,885,620. and the expenditure at £2,863,537. Relief amounting to £139,800, by way of income, land, and liquor taxes, would b given to the taxpayers.
