CHANGING OVER TO NEW VOLTAGE

“PEACEFUL PENETRATION’’ The work of changing over the electrical voltage from 110 to ‘230 volts is proceeding steadily, not only in the suburbs, but in the heart of the city. Each' week sees one or two of the big buildings converted to the new voltage .in an expeditious manner that causes verv little disturbance to the business, so 'that, with this “peaceful penetration” method of doing this important work, Wellington will awake one morning to find that the whole of the city has been changed over' —but that may not be for another -eighteen months or so. During the last week-end His Majesty's Theatre, in Courtenay Place, was changed over to the new voltage, without anyone knowing th*- difference on Monday evening.
