YOUNG WOMAN RUN DOWN BY MOTOR-LORRY

While endeavouring to cross Lambton Quay, near the railway station shortly before. 9 o’clock yesterday morning, Miss Mary Newell of 1 Austin Street, was knocked down by a motor-lorry, which passed over her chest. She was immediately conveyed to the public hospital. where she was admitted suffering from severe internal injuries. Last night her condition was reported to be as good as could be expected.
