“MISS NEW ZEALAND” TO BE ANNOUNCED ON SATURDAY MISS SUTHERLAND LEADING AUCKLANDER Dominion Special. Auckland, November 17. Now that there are but three days to go before “Miss New.-. Zealand” will be proclaimed to the people of the Dominion, excitement in Auckland is reaching fever "neat. The beauty contest is ’the one topic of conversation, and even the Royal Show now in progress has paled into insignificance beside the competition. On all sides the prospects of the various girls are discussed, and the Wellington representatives, Misses Doreen ' McCubbin and Isobel Wilson, are freely , mentioned, as the successful candidates. Both girls receive tremendous ovations at His Majesty’s Theatre nivhtly, and not a few Aucklanders are convinced that they will take the coveted honours back to the capital citv. In . anv case Wellington will not be.-disappointed in its girls, who are admired on all sides. “Miss Auckland” will be. announced on Friday night. Miss Anita Sutherland is the popular finalist, and heads the poll at present, with Misses Ellen Ford, Distin Strange, and Queenie Grahame next in. that order. Voting will end to-morrow night. . The scene on Saturday night when "Miss New Zealand” will be chosen, is expected to be the greatest sensation of the whole contest. . ' J"
