SEDDON MEMORIAL COLLEGE
COMMISSIONER S FINDINGS ALLEGATIONS NOT SUSTAINED Some time ago Mr. J. 11. Salmon, S.M., of Wellington, was constituted a commission to inquire into and report upon allegations contained in a petition presented to Parliament, by George Laing, of Auckland, and generally into matters affecting the efficiency and management of the Seddon Memorial Technical College, Auckland.
It was officially announced yesterday that the Commissioner found that Laing’s allegations have not been sustained, that the relations of the principal with the staff are satisfactory, and that certain allegations by Laing against the principal have not been sustained. The Commissioner suggests that a certain proportion 'of the cost of the inquiry should be paid by Laing, and makes recommendations for facilitating transfers of technical college teachers where necessary.
