It is understood that as a result of Mr. Coates’s many interviews with the London representatives of the Dairy Control Board and Butter Traders’ Association combined, his negotiations with the parties have reached a mutually acceptable policy for the marketing of the new season’s butter The Dairy Board has not agreed to forgo altogether the policy of price fixing, but it has undertaken that this shall be done jointly by the board and the trade, though, in the event of a disagreement, the board retains the last word. The board has given the trade a satisfactory assurance that it docs not desire to hold up supplies, but will allow the new butter,to go steadily on to the market as it arrives.
