MORRINSVILLE AGAIN SHAKEN
♦ BUILDINGS DAMAGED SHOCKS FELT IN HAMILTON By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, November 16. Morrinsvillc has been shaken again by earthquakes. There was a sharp shock at 5 a.m., and another slight tremor followed five minutes later. No damage was reported. A slight shock was felt in Hamilton about 5 a.m. A further heavy’ earthquake was felt at Morrinsville about 3 p.m., and more damage was done. It is understood that the residents were quite alarmed. According to the latest reports from Morrinsville, damage was done in various parts of the town, this afternoon’s shock being the second heaviest recorded in the present series. At the Nottingham Castle Hotel extensive cracks appeared in a ceiling, and other buildings were similarly damaged. A slight shock was felt in Hamilton at 2.25 p.m. A slight tremor lasting about half a minute was felt in Wellington at 3.10 a.m. yesterday’.
