The monkey was always a favourite with visitors to the park, and the children of Timaru will miss it very much. Mr. D. N. Harper (curator of the Timaru Park) told a reporter that in his opinion the monkey was as well cared tor as - any similai animal in the Dominion, and the fact that it had not once refused its fo-xl during ail the years it had been at the park, was evidence of its physical well being. The opossum, at present the monkey’s companion, has been with it for the past five years, and a great, friendship has sprung up between the pair. J
