OHAI MINERS ON STRIKE
HIGHER PAY CLAIMED.
By Telegraph.—Press association. Invercargill, November 16.. There is every prospect of a protracted strike at the Ohai Coal Company’s mine at Ohai. The miners downed tools on Monday, claiming additional payment per box of coal. The employers considered the demands unreasonable, and, although favourable offers were made to the men, they were not accepted, and they refused to re-, turn to work. The employers intend to await, representation front the men, and will consider only an unconditional return to work.
