Signor Mussolini, in an interview with the “Deutsche Allgeineine Zeitung’s” Rome correspondent, declared that Italy demands that her indisputable need of a place in the sun and of land shall be recognised by all nations, otherwise Italy will be forced to take matters into her own hands. He added, however, that he hoped other nations, who claimed to be Liberal, would not bring matters- to a climax, but would treat Italy liberally. CONSTRUCTION OF STRATEGIC ROAD ALARMS SWISS FASCISTS’ ATTITUDE TO TICINO London, November 14. The Geneva correspondent of “The Times” savs that Swiss military circles are nervous regarding the Italian Armvls construction of a strategic road leading from Sangiacotno Pass connecting Italy with the Swiss canton Ticino. Colonel Weber, former Commandant of Engineers, points out that the road will enable troops in swift motor-lor-ries, starting from Doniodossola, to necupv the Swiss fortifications in the St. Gothard Pass before the Swiss Arniv could be mobilised. Many believe that, while the Fascists are not hostile to Switzerland, they regard the Ticino as a lost province and hope at some time to annex it. —“The Times.” FASCIST PRESS OBJECTS TO Y.M.C.A. ROTARY CLUBS ALSO CRITICISED (Rcc. November 15, 8.5 p.m.) Rome, November 14. The Fascist Press is raising objections to the Young Men’s Christian Association as an organisation engaged in proselvtising. The papers point out that Roman' Catholicism is the national religion in Italy. There also has been criticism of the Rotary. Clubs, - which began similar to those of Britain and America, but they have been taken up by prominent Fascists, so now have been officially approved. . FASCISTS IN PARIS ATTACK NEWSPAPER OFFICE (Rec. November 15, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, November 11.A number of Fascists assembled at the offices of the newspaper “Action Francaise” and demanded admittance. When this was refused they broke the windows. The newspaper staff responded with a revolver volley, wounding one assailant. The Fascists returned the fire and then departed, carrying their injured comrade.
