CORK POLICE BARRACKS RAIDED

SERGEANT SHOT DEAD. London, November 14. A sensational series of raids is reported from Cork City, County Cork. Armed men overpowered the Civic Guard and ransacked the police stations, removing bundles of documents and shooting dead a sergeant. (Rec. November 15, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 15. The sergeant murdered at Cork was named Fitzsimmons. He was in charge of St. Luke’s Barracks and was standing in the doorway. Simultaneously there were raids at other barracks. The raiders, after removing bundles of documents, escaped. Great military activity in Cork followed.
