GIG FALLS ON WOMAN
DEATH INSTANTANEOUS.

Tailiape, November 15. A fatal accident occurred three miles from Taihape on Saturday afternoon, when a married woman, Hazel Dean (aged 22). was killed as the result of a gig capsizing. The gig was occupied by herself, her husband, her father, and a baby. The horse became unmanageable, and Mrs. Dean jumped out, but rolled down a bank into a creek twenty feet below. The horse and gig followed, and crashed on top of Mrs. Dean, killing her instantly. The other occupants were uninjured. At the inquest this morning a verdict of accidental death was returned.
