A message from Danville (Illinois) states that “Uncle Joe’’ Cannon, exSpeaker of the United States House of Representatives, died on Friday, aged 90, in his home there.
Moors attacked two French postal .aeroplanes in the Casablanca-Bakara service when landing at Bojadou. TJiey set fire to the. machines and mails, and took the pilots prisoner.
Mrs. N. Walker, of Tambar Springs, has succumbed in Scone Hospital, New South Wales, to injuries received in the Manilla railway disaster. The death roll is now 27.
Prince Eitel Fredrich, .’state’s a Berlin message, will be requested .to resign the Grandmastership of the most aristocratic Order of St. John, on the grounds that he was adjudged the guiltv partv in his recent amorce. The Grandmasters give accolades .which the rules declare can only be done by persons free from reproach of any kind.
