NEW DEPUTY-SUPERIN-TENDENT The appointment was announced, on Saturday morning of .Mr- R-. W- Witheford as'Deputy-Superintendent ’ of the National Provident .Fund and Registrar of Friendly Societies. Prior to his promotion, Mr. Witheford, who has had twenty-five years’ service with the Treasury, was clerk in charge of the loans and ledgers branch. He joined the Department in July, 1901, and in 1920 he opened the district Treasury office in Auckland. He held the position of cashier to the Treasury in 1921-22.
