NO SALARY NEEDED
TO SERVE GOD. When Mr. Van Eyk, the Dutch evangelist, was giving the first evening address of- his Wellington campaign in the Pentecostal Hall last night, he dealt, amongst other things,, with the way in which belief may improve one’s life. He cited, himself as an example of the power of belief A few years ago he began his evangelistic work, without any financial backing behind him. Even now he had none. “I do not get a sixpence salary,” he said. A voice: How do yon live? Mr. Van EykGod provides—or I should say through breathing. (Laughter.) If the God that I serve cannot give me food and clothes, well, then he is not worth serving. I tell vou that vou can teach the Gospel without a salarv. I have proved it. I have travelled half round the world without a salary
