CARGO STEALING

SEAMEN FINED. Dom.’Nion Special. Auckland, November 14. Another case of theft of ship’s stores by seamen was revealed in the Magistrate’s Court when two members of the crew of the Otaki, eGorge Robert Brett and Michael Campbell, were each fined £2 for stealing tea aid sugar from the steamet Kaponga, and a third man on the’ Otaki, Thomas Alfred Nelson, was fined 10s. for obstructing the Harbour Board official. The police said the three men were seen on the Kaponga at midnight, and thev bad no right to be there. The Magistrate: They exchange goods. That is what they do.
