CITY TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENTS
Sir,—l have been pleased to notice that endeavour has been recently made to draw attention through your valuable columns to the danger of accidents occurring at some of the narrow corners in the busiest parts of the city. Could you spare me a small portion of your mucli appreciated paper, I should be greatly obliged. In reading of the town planning schemes, I see that Te Aro Elat, is to have attention, but have not noticed any reference to the widening of the corner
of Cuba Street and Manners Street, but hope that this problem will be one or the first to receive attention from the town planners. The number of motor cars -on tns street increases every week, an d south-western corner of Manners Street and Cuba Street has become-a dangerous spot for-pedestrians and vehicles.- ■ If this corner were widened - by about 12 or 15 feet, it would lie appreciated by a large majority of citizens. If 1 mighj; suggest it, "this is a matter which well might receive the attention of the Civio League. I sincerely hope that some one in an influential position will take up the cause of the travelling public and endeavour to have some of..the. most dan. gerous corners widened.—l am, etc.,, - "' SAFETY'
