Act of 1926, which came into force on September 9, one day previous to the poll.. The-bld Act, under which the first poll. was. taken, provided for either marking ballot papers with a cross or striking out the proposal,.whereas the new Act provides only for striking but the proposal. The poll to-dnv' reasserted the ratepayers’ determination to scrap the .trams; the voting being 1143 for ihc proposal and 910 against.
