A startling Parliamentary, paper discloses that a sum of a million sterling is required to carry out necessary repairs to the Houses of Parliament in the next twelve years.’ Twenty-five per cent, of the decorative work must be renewed, chiefly owing to the effects of the impure atmosphere upon the magnesian limestone from Yorkshire, which the architect, Sir Charles Barr.v, was forced to use, though defects', in the quarry were -.well-known.
