RESUMPTION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC Dominion Special. Nelson, 'November IS. The latest information concerning the resumption of through. traffic to the West Coast shows that service cars will be able to resume running ,at a much earlier date than was at first anticipated. Mr. J. Newman, manager of Newman Bros., who has just turned overland from Westport, • states that service cars will resume running to the West Coast on Monday next. The only break in the journey will be at the new road now being formed to replace the portion destroyed on Four River Plain. Here passengers -wil have to walk some distance and will be picked up by cars at either end. The new road is expected to be ready within a week, and thereafter no inconvenience will be suffered by passengers Private cars should be able to get ’right . through to the coast By Monday week. A fordway is being constructed over the Newton , Creek, where the bridge was swept away by the flood. The creek will, be easily negotiated by cars in ordinary circumstances. It is hoped that the new bridge will be ready for traffic in about three weeks’ time. As showing the height to which the Buller River rose in places, tlie waters came to within 3ft. of the roof, and’Hie rock under, which traffic passes at Hawke’s Craig.'
