TOWN AND COUNTRY. I , . Miss M. Rogers, of Palmerston North, who has been staying with Miss Scanlon, in Wellington, has returned to her home. Mr. and Mrs. Cl Marchbanks, of Napier, are at present staying in Wanganui. Mrs. T. Cross, of Hawke’s Bay, is staying with her daughter, Mrs. R. P. Abraham, of Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. J. Stack, of Levin, are on a visit to Wanganui. Mrs. R. E. Hewat, of Palmerston North, is spending a holiday in

Hawke’s Bay. ’ Miss E. Ellingham. of Dannevirke, is staying with her sister, Sirs. EEdwards, of Retaruke. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Booth, who have been residing in San Francisco for several years, are at present in Otaki renewing old acquaintances. Mr. and Mrs. Booth will probably take up their residence in New Zealand, but for the next few months will tour the island. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Batston, of Christchurch, .are at present on a visit to Wanganui.

If time will permit, Madame and Mr Menere, the well-known ,ur merchants intend visiting Alaska this year. They are at present in London making purchases of the latest in furs with which they will return to New Zealand early next year.—Advt.
