ATHLETICS

UNITED BIBLE CLASSES. Much interest is being displayed in Bible class and athletic circles m the combined athletic meeting to be held on November 20, when the banner held bv Taranaki Street Methodists will be competed for. The banner will be presented to the winner at the close ot flip dav bv His Worship the Mayor. C Competitors are graded according to age, whilst fields are limited to the three best performers from each Bible class in each event, so that each point should be keenly contested. An experienced band of centre officials will be in charge on the field, as the lengthy programme demands the prompt dispatch of events. Whilst many well-known athletes will be in evidence," much of the interest is centred in the younger runners, from whose ranks several of the leading clubs are hoping to enrol future champions.
