PROTEST AGAINST FILM
WAR EPISODES MISREPRESENTED London, November 10. The American film, "The Unknown Soldier,” scheduled for screening m armistice week, prompted a large deputation, headed by Lady Cowan, which asked the Hone Secretary to prevent its presentation to the public. The Home Secretary ,-Sir William Jovnson-Hicks) pointed cut that he had no legal power to intervene, The deputation was emphatic in its declaration that the film was entirely an American picture, misrepresenting the most moving episodes in the. war. By. portraying an American soldier rs the unknown ' hero it outraged / British sentiment.;
