BRIBERY CHARGES

REPORT OF SELECT COMMITTEE “EVIDENCE OF FARLEY . UNRELIABLE” (Rec. November 11, 11.15 p.m.) Sydney, November 11. The Parliamentary Select' Committee which has been inquiring into the alleged bribery plot, has concluded its report, which states that the evidence of Farley , was unreliable. The committee also found that the leading article in the “Labour Daily” newspaper,' containing imputations against the Labour and Nationalist parties, could not .be sustained, as adequate steps had not beeen takn to verify the information on which the article was said to have been based.' The committee recommended that the whole of the evidence be referred to the Crown Law authorities.
