4, The debate on the licensing question (reported elsewhere) was not resumed when the Presbyterian General Assembly met last evening, but was put Hown for next sitting day. The resolutions which have so far been agreed to are as follow: — “That the Assembly expresses .ts determined condemnation of the retrograde terms of the Licensing Bill introduced by tlie Prime Minister, and especially urges the elimination of the State control issue, and opposes anv increase licenses or extension of time hetiveen the polls.” •'That the rero.Qriiisin< r dnt-v of the Church to work as such for the carrying of prohibition, urges .unpn all our congregations definite activity to this end bv forming a temperance committee workinc to win "otes. and bv flninc definite educational work, esracially among the vonnr people in tlie jjil-,lp plqccef; and Suhhnib schools.” “That the committee is authorised to raise a fund for its work not to exceed £250." ..
