KARAMEA DELAYED. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co. report that the Karamea has been delayed at Port Chalmers. She will now leave there tomorrow for Oamaru, Timaru, and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on May 15. and will sail on May 19 for Auckland to complete loading. The Karamea is to sail from Auckland on May 25 for London, via Panama. MANUKA FOR MELBOURNE. The Union Co. advise that the Manuka will now leave Wellington at 10 o’clock to-night for Melbourne direct. The refusal of the Lyttelton waterside workers to work overtime resulted in the vessel having to over-carry a small portion of her cargo for the Canterbury port. The Manuka arrived at Wellington at 4.35 o'clock yesterday morning from Melbourne, via the southern ports, and she berthed at No. 1 south (outer tee) Queen's Wharf. WIIAKARIRE’S DOUBLE SHIFT. The Wellington Harbour Board’s dredge Whakarire, which is receiving tin extensive overhaul, is to resume work wit Ilin a few weeks, operating with double shifts. Captain McMahon, of the New Plymouth dredge Paritutu, will join the Whakarire as mate of one watch and Mr. Smith will go mate of the other watch. Captain J. Hume ■will be master of one shift and Captain Stewitrt’ will be master of the other. TITE MAMA R I. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co. report that the Mamari. which is to leave Waikokopu to-day for Gisborne, Opua, and Auckland, will now not sail from Auckland until May 13 for New York, Boston, and London. lIORORATA REPORTS “ALL WELL.” The Federal Company received a wireless message on Saturday from the Ilororata, which is on route from Auckland to Boston, New York, and West. Coast ports, advising as follows:—“Good steaming weather. All well.” The vessel sailed from Auckland on April 25. GODLEY HEAD BUOY. The Lyttelton Harbour Board warn shipping that, the whistling lighting buoy has been removed from Godley Head, and its position is now marked by a black buoy, which will remain there until further notice. MISCELLANEOUS. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.’s steamer Raranga left Port Chalmers yesterday for Picton to preoeed with her loading. At present discharging at Port Chalmers, the Shaw, Savill, an<l Albion Co.'s liner Athenie is to leave- there on Thursday for Bluff to put out the remainder of her London cargo. r l’lio Kent, which has loaded under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Co., left Wellington at 5 p.m. on Saturday for London, via the Panama route. The Canadian Conqueror, which arrived at. Wellington early yesterday morning from Bluff, is to sail for Auckland this evening, and is to leave the latter port finally on Thursday. The Port Augusta left Dunedin yesterday morning for Port Kembla. The Port Wellington sailed from Nelson at 4 p.m. on Saturday lor Auckland for loading. The Port Brisbane arrived nt ‘Wellington on Saturday morning from Lyttelton to complete her cargo. She will leave here this evening for London, via Panama. The. Katoa is to sail from Auckland on Wednesday or Thursday for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Kamona is expected at Wellington to-day with a load of coal from Westport. The Breeze will load at Dunedin on Wednesday, and subsequently at Timaru and Lyttelton for Wellington. She is due here on Saturday. The New Zealand Shipping Co. advise that the Argyllshire left Napier at 6 a.m. on Saturday for Bluff to continue loading for London. , The Ripa is now not expected at Wellington until to-morrow from Dunedin, t Timaru, and Lyttelton. She will leave here to-morrow evening for Picton and Wanganui. The vessel is due back at Wellington on Friday to load for Lyttelton. Timaru, and Dunedin. The Canadian Traveller is due at Auckland to-day from Halifax. The vessel should reach Wellington next Friday. The Federal Co. state that the Suffolk arrived at Wanganui on Saturday morning from Tort Chalmers for loading. She will sail to-day for New Plymouth to complete discharge and to continue loading. The steamer West Nivaria arrived at Wellington at 9.35 a.m. on Saturday from San Francisco, via Auckland. The vessel, which comes to the agency of Messrs. Burns, Philp, and Co., berthed at the Taranaki. Street Wharf to unload part cargo. Mr. E. G. F. Zohrab’s fishing steamer Awarua is to sail from Wellington to-day for the Chatham Island to bring back a cargo of fish to this port. The vessel has just undergone an overhaul at Wellington. The well-known Inter-State steamer Melbourne, recently purchased by the Union Steam Ship Company from the Tasmanian Government, has been sold to Mr. Pelletier for a French company at New Caledonia. Tho Melbourne, which has been lying idle- in Rose Bay (Sydney) for some time past, has been docked, and she will be dismantled, and converted into a hulk. The Melbourne is a steel steamer , of 1739 tons gross, and was built at West Hartlepool in 1892. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain G. B. Morgan has taken command of the Kaitangata vice Captain W. Martin. Mr. R. E. Williamson has succeeded Mr. D. Williams as second officer of the Corinna. Mr. J. W. Ragg has joined the Wahine as third engineer in place of Mr. C. McL. Smith. Mr. B. Hughes, fourth engineer of the Flora, has signed off the ship’s articles.
