RECOMMENDATIONS IN REPORT . (Rec. Alay 1, 5.5 p.m.) London, Alay 1. The “Daily Express” understands that the report of the Food Prices Commission will be issued on Thursday. It savs’ that the report recommends, in addition to the Food Council proposal, that the operations of international trusts in wheat and meat should be delegated to the economic section of the League ol Nations.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [An earlier forecast of the report mentioned appointment of a National Food Council, working in conjunction with the Board of Trade. “It will be clear,” so it was stated, “that this machinery has been devised to deal with every ’kind of trading in foodstuffs’. Shopkeepers, . importers, consumers, the local authorities, and the Government Department will be represented. It is proposed to give the council power to examine traders’ books and accounts, issue licenses to trade in certain trades, warn profiteers,, and obtain if necessary • shareholding influence in the South American chilled meat importing trade.”]
