CATHOLIC PICNIC AT SEATOUN PARK
The Catholic picnic at Seatoun Park yesterday was a great success, there being an attendance of over 2000 people, including Archbishop Redwood, Archbishop O’Shea, Archdeacon Devoy, Deans Regnault and Holley, and practically all the clergy of the city. The Hibernian Pipe., Band supplied the music, and also played for the competitors in the.dancing events. The side-shows, conducted by the Marist Old Boys’ Association, and the tea kiosk, under the control of Mesdames Burke, Keogh, and Dennehy, did excellent business. The baby show attracted a large number of entries, and Dr.’*Roche-Kelly, who adjudicated, had a difficult task. The tug-of-war proved a very interesting item, and resulted in a win for 1 Newtown parish, which will hold a special challenge cup for twelve months.
