CHRTSTCHUBCn WGOLBBOKEBS’
OPINION
The Government’s meat pool proposals were considered bj T the Christchurch 'Woolbrokers’ Association at a special meeting (states the “Sun"). Afterwards the following telegram was sent to the president of t,lie New Zealand Woolbrokers’ Association in Wellington: “The meeting fully discussed t lie meat pool proposals, and while desirous ol supporting any scnemc hi the producers’ interests, found it difficult to arrive at a definite opinion with the meagre information at hand. Would not the Government’s objects be achieved by, firstly. Government graders nt works and more rigid inspection? Secondly, Government-guaranteed minimum prices. Thirdly, shipping controlled by a Ixifird. It is 'imperative that the Government appoint onlv recognised stock and station agents, licensed, and not freezing companies, similarly to the wheat scheme.
