MYSTERIOUS MURDER

LANDR.U EXPLOITS RECALLED

London, December 25

A murder recalling the Landru exploits has been disclosed by the discovery of the body of Irene Wilkins, a single . woman, aged 30, on the roadside near Bournemouth. Miss Wilkins advertise’ for employment, and received a telegram telling her to go to Bournemouth, where she would he met by a motor-car. Her dead body was found next morning. Her head had been battered, apparently by heavy motor tools, and there were marks showing where she had been thrown from the car. A telegram similar to that received by .Miss Wilkins was sent to a London nurse, who visited Bournemouth, but went to the wrong station and failed to meet the man. She subsequently found that the address given was,fictitious, and she probably escaped a fate like that- of Miss WilkinsReuter.
