HEATHCOTE WILLIAMS SHIELD MATCH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, December 20. The cricket match for the Heathcote Willianis -Shield between the Christchurch and Palmerston North Bovs’ High Schools was continued to-day. Palmerston (defenders) made a grand total of 363. Christchurch made 195 in the first innings, and in the second innings they have lost one wicket for 116 runs. The challengers require 24 runs to win. AIERCANTILE LEAGUE. Mercantile League team to play Trades League at Athletic Park on comber 24: Youll, Donaldson, AVheatley, Jennings, R. Smith, D. Todd, Crawford, L. Cording, Rait, Winter, R. Wall. On Alonday next (Boxing Day) two Alercantile League teams will play an all-day match with an A and B eleven al th:- Hutt Recreation Grounds. The following players are notified:—Blackmore. Lusty.
