WRECK OF PERTH SOLD. By Telegraph—Press Association. Creymouth, December 14. The wrecked steamer Perth was sold by auction to-day for £l5O to a Greymouth syndicate. The cargo was not, offered. EASTERN MOON DELAYED. i A wireless message received yesterday from the Eastern Moon, en route from Aew York to New Zealand and Australian ports, advised that the vessel had encountered, bad weather between the. Chatham Islands and the Dominion, and did not now exDect to reach Wellington until to-morrow morning. The Eastern Moon’s cargo ineludes 30.000 cases cf oil and general, ine i vessel is to proceed on Wednesday to Lyt- , telton, which port she should clear three ; days later for Bluff. Upon completing the discharge of the southern portion of . her cargo the Eastern Moon will be dia-' patched for Adelaide. Sydney, and Brisbane. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori, which cleared Port Chalmers , at 8 a.m. yesterday, la due here this morning, and will replace forthwith, the Mara- < roa in the Wellington-Lyttelton ferry service. The vessel, which is scheduled to sail for the southern port at 7.45 p.m.. will not load outward cargo. Upon arrival from Lyttelton to-day the MaA’aroa will berth at Qutjpn’s Wharf instead of at the Ferry Wharf. She is to sail at 1.30 p.m. to-morrow for Picton and i Nelson. The vessel will not take Kelson | cargo. MAHENO LEAVF.S fiYDNEY. The Union Company* Maheno left Sydney at 7 p.m. yesterday for Wellington, where she is eepec.ted to arrive on Sunday next. In continuation of her voyage from New York, the Whakatane left Auckland yesterday for Wellington, where she should arrive to-morrow. The Waimnte. upon completion of discharging and loading operations at Lyttelton and Dnncdin, will proceed to Napier and Wellington to fill up. _ She is due here on December 28. and is to sail on New Year’s Day for London. PORT KEMBLA’S MOVEMENTS. The C. and D. Line advises that the Port Kembla is to be dispatched from Port Chalmers on Saturday for Bluff to continue loading. She will Hubseouently go on to Lyttelton, Gisborne, and Wellington, and is due here about January 12. It is hoped to dispatch the Port Kembla three days later for London, via Cape Horn and Montevideo. ULIMAROA’S PROGRAMME. The Ulimaroa is to leave Sydney on Saturday for Auckland, which port, she should reach on the following Wednesday. She wi’l sail on the return voyage on December 23. The Ulimaroa. on her next trip, will clear the New South Wales port for Wellington on December 31. MAKURA’S MOVEMENTS. The Union Company advises that the Makura, which left Vancouver on Saturday last for Auckland and Sydney, is due at Auckland on December 31. The vessel Is bringing passengers, mails, and general cargo. THE STRANDED KENNEDY. Messrs. Levin and Co.. Ltd., advise that as the seas at Foxton had not sufficiently moderated up to yesterday afternoon no effort was made to relloate the coastal steamer Kennedy, which was blown ashore near North Spit early an Tuesday morning. Weather permitting, it was hoped to commence the work last evening. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. It is announced that Captain W. A. Wildman, of the Kaitoa, will have command of the Mapourika when she commences running in the Neljon service under the auspices cf the Anchor Company. Mr. J. Leonard has joined the Mapourika as first mate. , . Mr R. N. Gibson has signed on the Ivaitangata ae third mate, relieving Mr. T. McNicol. The Wanaka is expected to leave Auckland on Saturday for Napier and Wellington, and should reach here about Wednesday. The vessel will go on to Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Calm is due at Wellington on Thursday next from Bluff. Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton, and will sail the same day for Wanganui. Laden with a cargo of wool from the East Coast, the Putiki is expected to reach Wellington on Sunday. She will return on Monday to load a similar cargo. The Opua is duo to-morrow from Lyttelton, *nd will sail later in the day for Greymouth, taking cargo. The Storm, due to-day from Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton, will sail this evening for Wanganui, from which port she is expected to return on Saturday.
