ESTIMATES OF THE DAMAGE.
Sydney, December 14. Tho damage 'by tho tiro nt tho Pastoral and Finance Association’s stores is estimated by the “Herald” at ,£609.900, and bv the “Daily Telegraph” at a million, ineluding .£100,909, tho value of tho building. Tho actual insurances have not yet been disclosed. They are roughly estimated nt .£400,000.
Heavy volumes of smoke are pouring from the smouldering wool, and aro likely to continue for days. ' Tho wool losses represent about 6 per cent, of the total amount awaiting auction. The Sydney Finance Association supplied a ’ largo number of residents of North Sydney with electric lighting am. power. Tho electric plant being destroyed. these residents were robbed of supplies.—Press Assn.
