MAGISTRATE’S COURT

Bertie Dent appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., and was charged with receiving from Edward S. Carr, five clocks, value £5O, the property of Inguar N. Brons, knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained. On the application of Chief Detective Kemp, accused was remanded for a week. Bail was allowed in one surety of £lOO or two of JCSO each. James Wallace, charged with stealing two bunches of spring onions while under the influence of liquor, was convicted and discharged. Clara Algar, an old offender for drunkenness, was sent to tho Magdala Home for twelve months.
