WAIHORA DUE TO-MORROW. j The Union Company’s Waihora, from San Francisco, via Auckland and Napier, is due here to-morrow, and is to continue her voyage to Melbourne, via Dunedin, on Monday. MESSAGE FROM THE FRANCE. A cable message received yesterday byMessrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co. advised that the five-masted barque France had arrived at London. The France, which was engaged in an ocean race with, the Rewa and Vercingetorix, Left Wellington on September 5 and Reached th® English Channel on Decembcn -1. The Rewa left Lyttelton on September 12, and was reported off the Falklands on October 13. The Vercingetorix left Wellington for London on September 10. WESTMEATH’S PROGRAMME. It is hoped to dispatch the Westmeath . to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge of the southern portion of her London cargo. The vessel will subsequently load for West Coast ports of the United Kingdom at Dunedin, New Plymouth, Wellington, Gisborne, and Auckland, sailing finally from the last- | named port about the middle of January. PORT VICTOR’S ITINERARY The C. and D. steamer Port Victor left Auckland yesterday for Gisborne, wliers she should arrive to-day. Upon completion of loading at tho latter port tho vessel will go on to Tokomaru Bay and. ’ Wellington to load, and is to leave for London, via Panama, on December 31. WIRELESS FROM WHAKATANE. According to a wireless message received by the Federal Line yesterday, the Whaka- , tane. en route from New York to New ’ Zealand and Australian ports, the vessel . should arrive at Auckland at 5 o’clock 1 to-morrow evening. The Whakatane is due here on Monday week to discharge ■ the Wellington portion of her American. ■ cargo, and will proceed thence to Lyttelton, Dunedin, Mc-lbourne, and Sydney. WAIMANA CLEARS MONTEVIDEO •' A cable message received yesterday by the Shaw-Savill Company advised that the ■ Waimana, which left Wellington on November 15, for Home, continued her voyage from Montevideo on December 6. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., local agents for the Canadian Government Merchant Line, advise that the Canadian Mariner cn route from Sydney to Auckland, is’ expected to arrive at the latter port to-day. The vessel will load at tho northern port for New York, Boston, and . Montreal subsequently visiting Napier to complete. She is to clear the latter port on December 24 for New York direct. MAIMOA’S MOVEMENTS. The Shaw-Savill Company advised yes- . terday’that the Maimoa was expected I<> complete the discharge of her coal cargo at Timaru on December 20, when she would proceed to Napier, Tokomaru Bay. and Wellington to load. Atwood who has been . appointed superintendent of mercantile marine at Auckland, has been seventeen years in the Government service. During the last fourteen years he has been stationed at Auckland as assistant superintendent, examiner of masters and mates, and surveyor of ships. Previously lie was an officer in the Hinemoa. and. was sent to England to superintend the building of, and to bring out. *he Government steamer Janie Scddon.
